Moolarben Underground required an innovative approach to constructing pre-driven recovery roadway supports prior to advancing their 400-meter-wide longwall into the area.

The heating issue was identified in an inaccessible area of the mine and had experienced several events requiring active management over a long period.

Integra Underground excavated a large dyke from an active longwall block in the Maingate. The dyke was removed using shotfiring, after which formwork was installed and the resulting void was filled with StrataFill®.

As with all longwall mines in NSW, Tahmoor is required to seal their extracted longwall panels.

As part of Ulan Underground’s longwall extraction plan, the mine had the requirement to segregate a series of longwall blocks from the next series.

Mine Projects Australia was engaged by Donaldson Coal (Tasman Mine) to demobilise its three mine entries including installing the final mine seals.
